Graduate Research Assistantships

Guam EPSCoR Graduate Research Assistants (GRAs) will have the opportunity to assist in research conducted by Guam Ecosystems Collaboratorium (GEC) researchers in three primary research areas:

+   Biorepository: Curation and management of the Biorepository; Collection and curation of study coral specimens

+   Coral Genetics: Population genetics & species delimitation in Acropora corals; Identify coral transcriptomic responses to environmental stressor

+   Oceanography: Collection and analysis of oceanographic data
Eligibility & Benefits

Eligibility requirements are outlined by UOG Board of Regents Resolution (BOR) No. 15-29. To summarize, BOR 15-29 states that all students eligible for Guam-EPSCoR must be either 1) a citizen of the United States; or 2) a permanent resident alien; or 3) a non-immigrant alien admitted to Guam under the Compacts of Free Association (COFA). All students must have an overall grade-point average of at least 3.0 in the applicants’ undergraduate studies, or a 3.25 in the applicant’s master’s program. 

Fellowship benefits as stipulated in BOR No. 15-29 include a tuition waiver and annual stipend not to exceed $18,000.
